How Landscape Design Ltd. Works
1) Initial contact with client is via the internet, telephone, a recommendation or pre-existing knowledge of
Cooper & Taylor gained from other sources,
perhaps our 13 books on garden
design or the two BBC TV Series: The Curious Gardeners.
2) A meeting is arranged on site to
discuss the project & to find out what the client wants & how the
garden will be used & enjoyed, how much of the site is involved & the
time schedule. There may be a charge for this initial consultation.
3) A discussion takes place about
who actually will look after the garden following completion, & how many
hours a week will be dedicated to its maintenance - either by the owners or
by gardeners.
4) A plan is drawn up together
with a provisional estimate for the total costs of the project. This includes:
the initial preparation of the ground, the construction of all hard landscaping, lighting & watering systems,
& the cost of trees, shrubs & other plants to be supplied.
A fee is negotiated for the
initial Master Plan & sketches, written brief & estimate. Any changes
are charged at a negotiable fee & only done with the client´s approval.
5) We usually oversee the entire
project using one of our established & trusted contactors, unless the
client has someone reliable from the area. Our fees are covered by providing
all the goods & services.
6) All costs are subject to VAT.
